Beautiful Drive-By Pandemic Baby Shower

I found out I was pregnant with our sweet baby the day before my company sent everyone home to work remotely in March during the pandemic. It was very strange being pregnant during a pandemic (and now having a newborn!). There were no classes to attend or hospital tours, and I didn’t leave my house much. I wasn’t sure if I was even going to have a traditional shower, but I was so lucky my best friends hosted the most beautiful “drive-by” baby shower!

*loved this maternity dress! Comes in 10+ colors and under $25!

It was hosted outdoors in October with plenty of space for social distancing, and there was a circle drive for people who didn’t feel comfortable getting out of their cars. They could drive through, grab a drink and party favor and say hi to everyone. Since I had barely left my house since March, it was great to see so many friends and family that I hadn’t seen in way too long (many for over a year at that point!).

The front yard was decorated beautifully with flowers, paper lanterns, snack and drink stations, and a gorgeous balloon arch. My mom had this antique chair recovered in a blue velvet for me to sit in, but I was too busy greeting everyone the entire time to sit down! Even my sweet friend who helped host remotely from Ohio (she just had her own baby!) sent these customized water bottle and popcorn stickers – so cute!

It was so festive and fun, and if you are on the fence about hosting one for an expecting friend or having one yourself, do it! Although the drive-by means you probably won’t see out of town friends/family (vs a virtual shower), it was great to see everyone in person and you can always FaceTime in those who can’t make it.

It was such a highlight of my year, and the perfect welcome for Grayson!

Did you attend any drive-by showers in 2020?

xo, Kinsey
