Guest Room Before….
We are slowly but surely making our way through our list of home projects. During the lockdowns these last few months we have installed a new roof, had the entire exterior of our home repainted, installed a new water heater, updated our garage/guest apartment kitchen and bathroom, and now we’ve refreshed our guest room.
See the guest apartment kitchen refresh here!
I’ve been working from home this entire time which has been good and bad – good because I am here to help contractors/answer questions and bad because I am here constantly to help contractors/answer questions 🙂 . It’s been fun listening to the dogs bark at every person to walk past a door, window, on the roof, on the street….who needs to work anyway?!
This room was updated with some really affordable pieces and lots of HomeGoods/Tuesday morning finds. I’ve linked (under the top pictures above) what is available online and some look-alike items to those that I can’t find.
I was really impressed with these aged gold side tables for the prices. They are really versatile and could be used in so many other rooms. Since we were limited on space, this rounded shape and open/glass top makes the space appear brighter and bigger. Additionally, these curtains and brass rod are a great deal if you want to warm up a room on a budget – each window was less than $100. They are a linen-like texture and can be hung 3 different ways. Just a note, they definitely aren’t blackout and are more for privacy or aesthetics
If you saw this post then you’ll recognize this art print (the 18×24 was only $99)! I was so excited to receive it, and it looks even more beautiful in person. I added this aged brass frame which is great quality and less expensive than custom framing. What’s great about framed prints is that you can easily switch the print out for a new one while keeping the same frame and have entirely new look for the space.

I still need to find a headboard and a few other pieces, but overall I have other projects that need more attention and I’m calling this done (for now)!
Thanks for stopping by!
