I don’t know why it took me so long to jump on the Amazon prime bandwagon – but it’s probably better for our bank account that it took so long! The convenience of buying everything from one place, easy returns, 2 day shipping, the feeling of joy seeing the package waiting on your door… The fact that you don’t have to enter your credit card information every time makes shopping almost a little too easy…
I mostly use Amazon for things I need around my home, and I’ve gotten some really amazing steals! Below are my most recent 5 Amazon home decor finds that I have in my “old” (not the new!) house. I also have a “wish list” for my new house here!
- Botanical Prints ($3 for $30) – I searched high and low for some pretty, affordable botanical prints! Botanical prints are great for covering walls because they are neutral and don’t clash with any other type of art or pictures you have hanging. They can add a little color but mostly natural tones that blend in with most decor styles. Last time I checked my frames weren’t available, but I really like these frames ($35 for 4 and lots of different sizes available for a steal!) . You can have have a medium sized wall covered for $60!
- Throw Pillow Covers ($11)– I got these really pretty and well made grey linen throw pillow covers for $11 each! They are machine washable and are an easy way to upgrade a room or inexpensive item to change out every season. They are also so easy to store because they don’t take up much room. Even those these are super neutral, they have really pretty embroidered prints and patterns!
- Flushmount Crystal light fixture ($100) – this beautiful flush mount light fixture is so pretty in person and puts off the best light and sparkle. I learned my lesson with these types of “crystal” chandeliers – you want GLASS and not plastic beading. While this might seem like the obvious, it can be hard to tell from pictures so make sure you check the description and it isn’t a mix of glass and plastic. I have the 14in in my current kitchen, but it also comes in a smaller 12in.
- Antique Brass Sconces ($84) – if you’ve been on the hunt for sconces, you know that there are a million choices of “gold” or “brass” and the price ranges can be vastly different. It’s also difficult to see the actual color of gold on the screen. I didn’t want a true brass but more of the antique/less shiny look. These sconces were a great antique color that matched perfectly with my frames and mirrors (see whole room tour here).
- Floral basket hanger– So technically this isn’t decor, it’s more of a garden item, but hanging flowers outside a home just make it so warm and welcoming! They are super inexpensive, easy to install, and you can usually pick up some hanging baskets at your grocery story for under $15. They add so much curb appeal to your home for very minimal effort!
I have an entire wish list here for the new home, but am waiting until we are closer to moving it before buying any of it.
