Living Room Tour – Before & After

Before we bought our house, the listing photos for it were pretty…interesting! The house has great bones: beautiful crown molding, hardwoods, high ceilings, but the person who lived here before us was hiding it under so.much.stuff.

I tried to stick with neutrals with a hint of blue (my favorite!). I wanted to make the space feel as open as possible. That meant lots of mirrors, natural light, light colored walls, and airy furniture. This couch is a tad big for the space, but I was really insistent on having a deep cushion couch that would be extremely comfortable and functional (under $1,000!).

If you have pets, this rug is a must! It is machine washable – yes, you can throw it in your washing machine! Spills, accidents, and dirt no longer send you to the internet to order a new $200 rug.

The beautiful pink flowers are actually a potted azalea plant. I randomly bought it at Kroger, and it has sparked a new love for indoor potted plants. I’ve been very diligent about keeping it alive, and so far I’ve had it for about 3 weeks. It was only $24, but it adds to much to the room and will last so much longer than cut flowers.

I splurged on these antique gold mirrors, but if you sign up for emails you can get them up to 30% off! I absolutely love them and think they are so versatile. Totally worth it :)!

I looked and looked for sconces that were affordable but would match the antique gold mirrors and found these that I am extremely happy with. They are a great muted shade of gold that blend well with other gold and silver tones throughout the living and dining room.

The coffee table is a covered antique and the corner lamp (similar here!) was a hand-me-down from my mom.
