Back to the Blog – Comfy Dress for Summer to Fall

Since the city is starting to rebuild and life continues to move forward, I decided it is time to start up blogging again. It will still be months, or even years, until the city is back to normal, so we must remember that the road to recovery is not a sprint but a marathon. We were so lucky that our neighborhood and house were fine in the floods, but West Houston (where I grew up!) is still dealing with the horrible aftermath. I’ll be volunteering with the animals this weekend so stay tuned for insta-stories of animals available for foster or adoption 🙂

Ironically, the departure of Harvey meant the incoming of beautiful weather –  they type of weather in Houston where it is actually bearable to sit outside and truly enjoy it. While we never know what the months of September – November (even December!) will bring (i.e. it could be super hot or down right chilly), the seasons start to change and it just feels wrong to be sporting all of my summer favorites – even if it is 100 degrees outside.

I actually shot this dress about a month ago, and it is still available in a few sizes and colors. It also comes in a really cute blue and red (on sale!) pattern as well. I originally picked it up because the fabric is so soft and it is such an easy style to wear. The little ruffle detail was also such a cute touch.

These types of easy swing dresses are fun for transitioning to fall when the weather is still warm. They look cute with nude heels and just as cute with faux leather booties or boots (love these!).

You could also throw on a jean jacket for cooler nights or a faux leather jacket if you’ll be sitting outside.

I added really simple gold jewelry with this fun statement ring and some gold hoop earrings.

This dress is so functional because it can be dressed up for a date night or girls night, or dressed down with flats for running errands.

I look forward to being back on the blog, and hope that I gave enough time after Harvey to be sensitive to everyone who has experienced so much loss over the last couple of weeks. I will continue to keep the Texas Coast and Florida in my thoughts and find ways to help.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.
