Ahh finally my computer started working so that I could make this post! I was having trouble with an external hard drive because of all the large res pictures on my computer. Anyway…back to the little black dress!
*Note: this lipstick is my favorite! It’s cruelty-free, under $5 and available at Walgreens…win, win, win!
I saw this dress online and bought it a few weeks back, but just had a chance to shoot it. It also comes in this beautiful coral (I think the black is sold out, ah!) that is 40% off!
Everyone needs a black dress that they feel excited about and comfortable in. What’s great about black is that it is all-seasons and appropriate for a wide range of occasions. They can range from a cocktail event to a ladies showers – ok, this one is a little scandalous for a shower, but this one would be perfect! I’m hoping to wear this to a New Year’s eve wedding we have this year since the low back is a little revealing for a normal wedding.
Black is also great because it’s a neutral. I even argue you can mix and match blue, black and brown and that they all go together…some people might cringe at that idea, but I will do another post mixing them all together! I love black jeans, brown boots and a navy top, but I’ll save that for another day.
I added these fun black tassels, but you could really mix and match any color. It would be fun to add turquoise, yellow, or pink! The possibilities for colorful accessories (clutch, shoes, jewelry) are really endless.
What really stood out about this dress to me is the amazing detail from the hemline, the see-through waist, the beautiful fabric and low back. I really thought the amount of detail for the price (under $100 – coral is on sale now for $50!) was a great deal. It also fit really well and wouldn’t need any type of alterations.
This brand runs a tad small, and I am wearing a size small for reference.

On another note – my husband and I just booked our flights for a Napa trip in November. I have never been, so we are going for my birthday (SO excited!)! Please let me know if you have any recommendations for hotels or wineries. I have a few wineries on my list, but still have no clue where we should stay. I was looking at the Andaz which is beautiful, but didn’t know if it would be more fun to stay at a more bed and breakfast(y) place. Thoughts?!
